Born in Perros-Guirec in Brittany, Olivier de Rohan Chabot attended high school in Paris. He completed a Bachelor of Philosophy and Mathematics then entered the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris. His professional career was first as a specialist in marketing, and then in executive recruitment.
From 1987 to 2004 he was on the Board of the Friends of the Louvre Society. In 1995, he joined the Board of the French Federation of Friends of Museums, where he is responsible for international relations and, in 1996, he co-founded La Fondation du Patrimoine, France’s largest non-state heritage foundation.
He is Chairman of the Friends of Versailles, Vice President of the Friends of the Hôtel de la Marine and President of La Sauvegarde de l’Art Français, France’s leading religious buildings charity. He is also President of the Brussels-based Future for Religious Heritage promoting the cause of religious heritage across Europe.
Olivier de Rohan Chabot is an Officier de la Légion d’Honneur, Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, Commandeur des Arts et Lettres and Médaille d’Or des Services Militaires Volontaires.
