
Rickie Burman
Rickie Burman has extensive experience in the fields of Jewish museums and heritage, art and culture.
She played a lead role in restoring the former Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue and establishing the Manchester Jewish Museum.
As Director of the Jewish Museum London, and previously Curator of the London Museum of Jewish Life, she was responsible for developing the museum’s collections, exhibitions and public programmes. She oversaw a major development project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, to integrate the two museums within a single site, with new galleries on Jewish history in Britain, Living Judaism and Holocaust education.
Since 2012 she has worked as Senior Development Manager at the National Gallery, contributing to a range of projects, from capital developments to exhibitions and learning programmes, including the Gallery’s bicentenary NG200 project.
She is a former President and Board member of the Association of European Jewish Museums and is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the Jewish Historical Society of England.
