
Paul Sassieni
Paul Sassieni was born in the United Kingdom and moved to the USA in his 20s, and is now based in Chicago.
Paul’s interest in Jewish heritage began during a Union of Jewish Students educational trip to Eastern Europe with Michael Mail in 1982.
Paul holds a BA in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Bristol and is currently enrolled in the MA in Jewish Studies program at the Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership in Chicago.
He brings over four decades of experience in global banking, having held senior roles across international markets, credit and risk management, and cross‑border financial infrastructure. His career included extensive work with global financial institutions and industry bodies, providing deep insight into international systems, governance, and financial risk.
Following his 43‑year career, Paul is now dedicating his time to Jewish communal service. As a Trustee of The American Friends of the Foundation, he is leading efforts to expand the Foundation’s reach and activities in North America, strengthening support for the preservation of Jewish heritage sites worldwide.
