Piotr Puchta

Piotr Puchta is a Polish diplomat and former senior official specializing in African and Middle Eastern affairs, as well as a heritage professional dedicated to the preservation of Jewish heritage in Poland.

During his diplomatic career at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Piotr played an active role in the restoration and development of Poland's relations with the State of Israel and maintained close cooperation with Jewish diaspora organizations. He served as Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Egypt, with concurrent accreditation to Sudan and Eritrea. In 2014–2015, he headed the Polish delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA).

Following his diplomatic service, he became Director of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland, leading initiatives to protect and promote Jewish cemeteries, synagogues, and other historic sites.

He currently continues his work as a civic advocate for the preservation of Jewish heritage and intercultural dialogue. In 2026, he was recognized by Friends of Jewish Heritage in Poland for his contribution to safeguarding Jewish cultural heritage.
