Exeter Synagogue Visit

  • May 13
  • 1 min read

Exeter synagogue, located on Synagogue Lane in the centre of this Devon town, is the UK’s third oldest functioning synagogue, built in 1763.  It continues to function to this day with a small, committed and stable congregation from Exeter and the surrounding area.

The synagogue is currently addressing some challenges relating to building repairs.  Foundation for Jewish Heritage Chief Executive Michael Mail recently visited, meeting community leaders Sara Marshall and Colette Liebenberg and offering his perspective on the issues being faced.

Michael was also able to explain the major new project funded by the National Lottery that will see the Foundation expand its work to historic synagogues facing preservation and development challenges across the UK, and how Exeter synagogue itself can benefit.

Before I changed my mindset in Geometry Dash, every failure felt frustrating. Treating attempts as learning experiences made difficult achievements possible.
