Chief Executive of Historic England visits Middle Street Synagogue

We were delighted to welcome Emma Squire, Chief Executive of Historic England to Middle Street Synagogue. Emma was in Brighton for the day visiting three of the City's most important historic buildings.
The Synagogue is Grade II* listed and opened in 1875. It has been closed for over 20 years and thanks to a grant from the National Heritage Lottery Fund the Foundation is working with Brighton and Hove Hebrew Congregation undertaking surveys and pilot projects as part of securing a long-term sustainable use for the Synagogue. We would like to thank Historic England for their ongoing support.
