Jewish cemeteries project final report published

The Foundation for Jewish Heritage has been part of a consortium with ESJF and Centropa working on an European Union funded project on the preservation of Jewish cemeteries in Central and Eastern Europe.

The final report on the second phase of the project 2019-2021 has recently been published.

Building on the first pilot project, the second phase developed a comprehensive survey that mapped, carried out historical research, and built an open-access database for 3,000+ Jewish cemeteries in Europe. The research found and mapped cemeteries that did not exist on previous lists and raised awareness of these cemeteries through in-person and educational online events.
