Nina & Daniel Libeskind - a Friend of the Foundation for Jewish Heritage - recently visited the historic synagogues project in Izmir accompanied by Foundation Chief Executive Michael Mail.
The visit was hosted by the Kiriaty Foundation which is leading the project which seeks to preserve the nine historic Sephardi synagogues of Izmir and create a museum and visitors centre.
A special Reception promoting the project was held with the Mayor of Izmir and local dignitaries in the Portugal synagogue.
The Etz Hayim synagogue in Izmir is one of the synagogue restoration projects being featured by the Foundation for Jewish Heritage.
