Izmir Project London Presentation

  • Aug 30, 2018

Uri Bar-Ner works for the Kiriaty Foundation in Israel which is developing the Izmir Project, which is an initiative to preserve and present six remarkable historic Sephardi synagogues in the old quarter of Izmir in Turkey.

Uri gave a presentation on the Project at an event in August 2018 at Holland Park Synagogue in London.

The Project includes the ancient Etz Hayim synagogue which was highlighted in the ‘historic synagogues of Europe’ mapping research as being of high importance and ‘at risk’, and therefore is one of the sites that the Foundation has been profiling.

The Foundation is providing ongoing advice and support to the Izmir Project.
